Public Diplomacy Lab
The Public Diplomacy Lab was established in 2020. The Chair of the Lab is prof. dr hab. Beata Ociepka.
The Lab continues and supports research on public diplomacy (conducted at the Institute of International Studies for twenty years) by acquiring external funds and creating a network of researchers dealing with this subject. PDL is the first such center in Poland to study public diplomacy, understood as a foreign policy tool, but at the same time as external political communication of governments and non-state actors. The research conducted in the Lab is interdisciplinary, as it combines the theory of international relations with studies on media and communication.
- The latest project carried out in the Lab is a Horizon 2022 NARDIV grant (2023-2026). In this project Prof. Beata Ociepka leads the WP 3 „Post-colonial cosmopolitanism vs. national Interests”.
- In 2022 an OPUS 12 project entitled “Cultural Diplomacy: Conceptualization of Years and Seasons of Culture as Cultural Events During an International Conflict”, financed by Poland’s National Science Center, was finished. The grant owner was prof. dr hab. Beata Ociepka.
The Lab is led by prof. dr hab. Beata Ociepka
